Are you that guy?

When on a descent or a climb and someone comes up on your wheel, cause they are faster than you and kindly requests to get by you when convenient, are you that guy who when you see it is a female who chooses not to let her by? You then speed up and either blow up, wreck or put others at risk?

Are you that guy? I ask cause there seems to be a shit ton of those guys in Utah. Seriously, so sorry about your lack of manhood and low self esteem, let the effin rider by.

that is all....

This happen to my wife all the time. Dudes are usually dicks when she drops them. Or if she passes some guy's on a trainning ride the always have to tell her they are just on a "recovery" ride.

Maybe they are new(er) riders, have too much ego, ride for all the wrong reasons, or are just dicks. My guess is the latter.

Last month I was climbing the final section of dirt road above the old Bobsled entrance on my way over to Dry Creek and got passed by a lady trail runner. She motored up the road and stopped at the top. As I rode by I complemented her on a fine climb (to which she smiled and said thank you) and I continued on my way.

If you can't appreciate another's effort whether riding or racing I'd suggest reviewing your motivation for being in a bike. Maybe that's easy for me to say because I'm nit that fast, but try to treat everyone as a fellow rider/racer and forget about sex, age, category, bike brand, etc.

Sorry, I'm not so good on my iPhone.

"in a bike" should have been "on a bike" and "nit very fast" should have been "not very fast"

It happens to fat guys too. The past couple of weekends going up Clarks there have been some guys who are new to mtn biking and when they see me after I ask to passs (insert holy shit Doug passed someone joke here) they speed up then proceed to blow up. My favorite part this weekend was once blown up the dude decided to park in the middle of the trail forcing me unclip.

Happens in running too. Totally annoying. Although I know some girls who insist on informing the guys they pass that they have been "chicked." That's ever more annoying.

If they were smart, they'd let the girl pass so as to ogle the posterior. I do that. Even to chicks. A hot "A" has no gender boundaries.

Happens everywhere even in my marathon speedskating events. Men are funny that way. A weaker man will try to better the woman or have an excuse at the ready...a stronger man will recognize the talent and use it as inspiration.
