5 hours 20 minutes.....

50+ miles, 5000 plus feet of climbing, 143 average HR, shitload of wind, a little mud, a couple thousand calories eaten, sore back, sore, well, that place that contacts the saddle, longest single day mtb ride in a few years. Close to 12 hours in 3 days, largest training block ever, this early. Low motivation for ride longer than an hour tomorrow, but I am glad I did it, maybe.

Wow - That's a lot of riding. It took me 6 days to get 13 hours last month and I was COOKED for the last 2! When are you going to schedule something similar for me to try?!

Of course you're glad, you got to spend some quality ride time with me.

Bob, wtf? You need to taper during the winter months. Afterall, your nearly 40. This season you will be racing against fellow-40 yr olds that don't straddle thier bikes until the snow has 'completely' melted. I've notified Ed about your training regiment, he is considering keeping you in the 30-39 category.

It was fun trying to stay upright in that "breeze" atop the climb with you and Newby. I don't think I have ever had to work that hard to go downhill.

Good times.

Age makes no difference in the semi-pros.
